During his time with the provincial papers Aaron covered a wide range of assignments including hard news stories such as terrorist incidents, funerals, car accidents and more localised stories with local people concerning local issues. During this time he also covered many major high profile visits to the Borough, including Royal and Political visits. Aaron was able to deliver a style of photography required for a local readership which was an excellent foundation for developing his photographic skills.

In 1995 Aaron joined Harrison Photography and during this time he has broadened his skill base from purely news focused photography to include a more client sensitive approach to assignments while still looking for suitably ‘strong’ photos that would appeal to the picture desks.
Ulster Orchestra Christmas Card 2006 Aaron has extensive experience in working for public and private sector clients while at Harrison Photography. This includes undertaking assignments for a number of the Northern Ireland Government Departments and the Northern Ireland Office. These commissions have afforded him the opportunity to photograph Royalty, senior political figures, world leaders and Government Ministers. Aaron has used his interpersonal skills to good affect, accepting the sensitivities, etiquette and protocols of any given situation.

Working at Harrison Photography has required Aaron to become a member of the planning team for the respective clients. He maximises the latest technologies Harrison Photography has invested in to best effect, contributing to the clients objectives. This has offered Aaron the opportunity to have greater creative and innovative input to photo shoots thus benefiting the results of the commission for the client.
While on location in Dubai Aaron set up a range of creative and exciting news pictures for consumption by the local newspapers in Northern Ireland. He had to also manage mobile transmission of the pictures to the newspapers to meet their deadlines. He worked as one of the client’s team to secure results.

For many private sector clients Aaron has created many studio products shots. These have included photographing such things as awards, cakes, fruit and vegetables, fish, antique furniture and computer circuit boards as well as people in formal portraits or more casual fashion shoots. Once again Aaron has provided creative advice to the client and staged the shots to ensure a quality picture is produced meeting their needs.
On one occasion he was asked by the Ulster Orchestra to create a image that would promote their forthcoming ‘Northern Lights’ series of concerts in the local Belfast daily press. After consultation with the client it was decided to take the picture in the studio to create a multi coloured lighting effect behind one of the orchestra musicians. The photo was a success and appeared in the Belfast Telegraph in full colour.
